Rhode Island Write on Sports
Goes Virtual! Rhode Island Write on Sports welcomed 8 students from Central Falls to our first camp,
at Calcutt Middle School, in 2014. In 2019, our sixth year, RIWoS served 59 students from Central Falls, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, Providence, Cranston, Cumberland, Johnston and E. Providence. For our seventh year, RIWoS was unable to hold in-person camps because of the pandemic, so we went online, offering our first-ever Virtual Camp, held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in July. We had 25 students, including RIWoS alumni! The camp's success has us thinking about offering Virtual After-School Programs, another step forward for our non-profit organization! |
